Kevin - what's the minimalist podcast you like to listen to? I started living with my gf and she is a maximalist, if that's even a word. How do I convert her to our material religion.
I just laughed so hard at this! “Maximalist”<--I’d say there’s no hope, but I am a Maximalist turned wanna-be Minimalist. It all happened after I went into the shed at my borderline-hoarder mother’s house and realized that I would be the one to sort through all that crap one day.😳 I went home and promptly began purging. Good luck.
After my stepdad passed away, my stepsiblings cleaned out the storage units (yes plural!) he and my mom had. That was a huge help...expect it all went into her garage. Having to pare down/purge/whatever a lifetime of stuff for 3 people (my grandmother's things were still there as well) was... a lot. As soon as I got back home, I did the same as you, and got rid of quite a lot.
Is it my birthday this week because you're hitting all my favorites. Blondie is the one artist that my wife and I can listen to anytime, anywhere together. I pitched Parallel Lines on EONS last December and it didn't get in, which was a travesty. A travesty, I say! Great album.
By the way, what is this sub shop that brings the best of Boston's North Shore to Wisconsin? Did they open a Kelly's Roast Beef near you?
A total travesty! This should've been a lock for a place in the hall. The sub shop is literally called...North Shore. I still haven't made it there, but my kid loves it.
Try the North Shore restaurant - one of my daughters lives in Boston and the North Shore has amazing food. Listening to Sunday Girl rn, forgot all about this song. 11:59 might make it to a playlist.
Love PLs, just packed full of perfect pop songs, but for my favourite Blondie album I'll always defer back to their debut, for the rawness of 'Rip Her to Shreds' etc.
If there is one venue I'd love to time-travel back to it would be CBGBs in its pomp! I'd love to hear some first-hand stories if there's anybody on here who ever went? The club features in an upcoming chapter of my music themed novel challenge69.substack.com and I'd love to enhance what I've written fictitiously with an 'eyewitness account'! Tim

It's on my list! Hoping to check it out soon. Also getting ready to check out your Ghost/Orville Peck article/list.
