TV show The Bear is inescapable right now. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a character-driven show focusing on a Chicago restaurant and the people that work there. But it’s far more than that, with incredible amounts of nuance and tight writing squished into short episodes.
The music is no exception and has also driven much of the larger discourse. A lot of shows tend to be precious with their soundtracks, using songs as a performative attempt at street cred.
