They got me with snow plow drivers.
There is a very big election here in the US that has commanded most of our attention in the last several weeks, but most people have long ago decided which way they’re going. All that’s left is the shouting and mean tweets.
The down-ballot races/measures are much more interesting and have a much more immediate effect on my daily life. In my little suburb, that means an operating levy to keep things running. Inflation has hit the city the same way it’s hit all of us (Note: stick with me; I promise this isn't a lesson in economics.).
The presidential election will decide the future of this grand experiment. The ballot measure will determine what the future of a city of ~8000 people looks like. If I’m being honest, it could’ve used a cool slogan. Maybe something with striking visuals and weapons-grade alliteration.
