Good Morning!
Today we’re listening to “Rush Hour” by Jane Wiedlin
It’s Friday, so we’re going with something a little lighter.
Most people know Jane Wiedlin as one of the guitarists in the Go-Gos. But she’s also released four solo records (and a fantastic collaboration with Sparks featuring some of the best 80s dance moves you’ll ever see).
In 1988, she released Fur.
Produced by Stephen Hague (New Order, Pet Shop Boys, OMD) the album took on a decidedly electronic feel older fans might not’ve been ready for.
The album itself didn’t crack the Hot 100, but lead single “Rush Hour” shot all the way to number 9 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
More:
Rush Hour was surprisingly, by most standards, a very catchy song which reflected a lot of the type of music that was produced in the mid to late eighties. New wave, post punk and synth pop was admittedly popular with me during that period, which might explain my instant attraction to Wiedlin’s music.

Not quite my jam, but let me check the album out. The album art reminds me of Enya!
