This is a really well written and evocative piece. Thanks for mentioning 'Blue Highways', and William Least Heat Moon. I fell in love with that book one summer. I dig the tune as well. Superb work, my friend.
Thanks for introducing me to Mr Silverstein. Picked up a copy of the new album - criminally underpriced at Rough Trade... feel a bit guilty about it but hopefully he gets a decent cut?!
Great piece. The four calendar café concept intrigues the crap out of me.
I am about to embark on a one week road trip to the west - that is western Massachusetts. Driving the blue roads of MA is different than driving the blue roads of Western Sky country. It is more about what is around the next bend or over the next hill. Its about cars on the lawn and colonial meeting houses. I think Jeffrey's music would provide a nice background for my drive. Thanks.
Beautiful story and nice track to go with it. I love that there's an element of predictability in the melody and yet you can't know for sure how the chord progressions will pan out. A bit like hitting the highway in search of new horizons. The song ends with a sense of hope... a bit like hitting the highway to find yourself.
Listening to this led me to William Tyler, who I haven't listened to recently, and his latest live release Secret Stratosphere, which is excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed Tyler's 2016 release Modern Country and enjoyed diving back into that again for the first time in a while.
Both this essay and the song are gorgeous Kevin!! I hadn't heard of this artist before, so thank you for introducing me. I love a killer instrumental, especially this one is so appealing with the shimmery sparkly guitar. It sounds absolutely the perfect soundtrack for a road trip. Will add this to my Spotify Liked Songs 🎶🎵
Echoing what Eric and others have said - the personal and introspective aspect of this piece, combined with the exceptional music track, is making this one of your best yet. Congrats to your son!! And credit to you and Mrs. Anderson - parents gotta have some props for our kids' milestone achievements ☺️
Eeks just realized I put Anderson not Alexander 🤦 I'm off to my nephew's graduation party this Saturday - hoping there won't be too much of the everlong smalltalk that you commented on Eric's post 😉

Thank you! I wish more people knew about that book. It really did change my life & the way I look at things.
This is my favorite piece of yours I've ever read. Loved how personal it was, and evocative. Keep rocking!
Thanks Eric! That really means a lot coming from you. :)
One of my favorite pieces I’ve read of yours
Thank you Chris!

I hope he does too! At that price, it's a steal.

I think it will too. I'd be interested to hear more about your trip when you get back!

Thanks Andres! That's a great way to describe it.
Thanks for introducing me to this artist, giving the album a listen now and enjoying it!
You bet! I'm always happy to introduce a new artist to someone.

Beautiful post. Love the tune - it IS intoxicating! I’ll have the whole album on in my office this morning - thanks for the introduction.
And congratulations on your graduate! Our youngest graduates tonight. 🎓
Thank you! And congrats to you & your youngest as well!!

Thank you! He's done most of it himself, but /someone/ had to drive him to all those early morning soccer games. :)

Lol. It's all good.
As for the small talk? I hope there isn't too much, either! :)
