Today we’re listening to “Lemon Yellow Black” by Jets To Brazil
Blake Schwarzenbach is not one to coast. After fronting Jawbreaker, it would’ve been easy for him to ride the waves as a sort of elder statesman of the scene. An interview here or there, maybe a few shows to keep fans’ hopes/dreams stoked for a full-fledged reunion (that came later), etc.
Instead, he came together with veteran musicians like Chris Daly late of Texas is The Reason, and put together Jets To Brazil.
The music was softer in comparison, but not soft. And as with anything he does, Schwarzenbach kept right on bending the English language to his will.
Daughters of the revolution you're freezing in your furs
well-heeled atrocity show the finishing school is done
the appropriate responses are wrong for once in you life, man, just think
unemployed war heroes hating the peace time march
that's right these things come back to you
