I just published my first note on Substack Notes and would love for you to join me there!
Notes is a new space on Substack for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more.
Here are a few things I plan to use it for:
Discuss music (obviously).
Share articles I’m reading that I think you’ll find value in.
Boost the work of other writers- the Substack music writing ecosystem is booming, and there is a ton of great work out there.
Publish mini-articles and/or tease out ideas too short for a regular post but still worth a mention.
There will be Gizmo pics.
Help build what I believe is the best community on this platform (that’s you!)
It’s also worth noting (heh) that Notes do not go out as emails the way regular posts do. These will live on the web and not in your inboxes.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As an On Repeat subscriber, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
Consider this an open invitation to share your notes. I want this to be a space for everyone to share their thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from wherever you might be in the world.
P.S. You can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance if you encounter any issues. Looking forward to seeing you there!
OMG I am so psyched that someone else likes The Ocean Blue enough to have Cerulean and on cassette at that!! I am not exaggerating when I say that they had THE best sounding show I ever saw in my life.
This was at the legendary Troubadour in LA and it was so clean and clear. The lead singer was so shy and instead of banter between songs like other bands, he would take the time to adjust stuff with the sound check crew. They need to have a reunion cuz it's about time for a saxophone-based Britpop comeback, am I right?! Ballerina Out of Control is one of my fave songs of all time!
I love how "all the cool kids" is a phrase only "older" dads and moms and grandmas and grandpas use. Or maybe it's just that I also use it all the time and consider its usage on par with a "bad" pun. It makes me giddy when I get a groan reaction.
