Over the last few years, I've spent a lot of time and energy working to convince people that the Midwest is more than dairy farms and corn fields. The heartland is more than its stereotypes. It's not what you expect.
So I was a little embarrassed to realize I'd been doing the exact same thing with Alberta, Canada. Specifically Edmonton.
Snow? Yep.
Hockey? Of course.
Oil? See previous.
Synth-punk? Not a chance.
Yet here we are.
Graeme KacKinnon (No Problem, Wednesday Night Heroes) & Clint Frazier (Shout Out Out Out Out & Physical Copies) call the city home. Together the duo makes up Home Front, a band that, on the surface, feels like they'd be much more at home in a neon jungle like London or NYC.
