A funny thing happens when you first visit France; you suddenly pay much more attention to aesthetics. Form matters. At the same time, there’s a pull to pretend it doesn’t. A sort of nonchalance that demands quality, only to regard it with barely a sniff. Tradition and the nouveau push against each other- like a sort of stylistic tectonic plates. Quality and insouciance are an intoxicating mix.
