Good morning!
Today we’re listening to “Loser Smile” by Mo Dotti
Mo Dotti is a Los Angeles-based band that describes themselves as “a jangle-gaze band from Los Angeles, painting avant punk and dream pop together to make science feel like magic.”
Listening to this track, you’re sure to be reminded of My Bloody Valentine and Lush both. This single is off of their Guided Imagery EP, released this past Friday on Bandcamp.

It still blows my mind how bands whose members were not even born when Loveless dropped are able to conjure up the magic of that record, and era, so easily. L.A. act Mo Dotti remind a listener than just when you think there's no more fire left in shoegaze, there's more than enough to generate some awesome music.

This is a good song, but it’s not hitting all the right notes for me. The instrumentals seem a bit jarring right off the start. But the band get the overall feel of shoegaze across.
