Happy Monday! Before we dive in, I want to take a quick second to welcome all of you who joined us over the weekend. I’m delighted and grateful you’re here!
It’s no secret the song’s lyrics refer to drug use, but the only high I get listening to it is from adrenaline. I love the way this song builds up; like the second before dropping in on the first ski run of the day or going down a water slide. The intro starts and you know you’re in for an adventure.
It’s always surprised me that it wasn’t the opening track on the album.

With references to cocaine and the Beatles, this cavalcade of electric guitars (one playing a riff strikingly similar to the one in R.E.M.’s “The One I Love”) probably says a lot about what life was like for the Gallagher bros circa 1995. They were flying high in every sense — hence those helicopter noises at the start and finish.

I'm always late to every party it seems, but I didn't start appreciating Oasis until long after they'd broken up. Better late than never though, I suppose.
