Good morning!
Today we’re listening to “Do You,” by Spoon.
The Texas-based band has been together for close to 30 years, and just recently released a new record. This track is off of 2014’s They Want My Soul.
Spoon is one of those bands where everyone seems to have a favorite song (or record) and fiercely defends it. They released a greatest hits record—ironic for a band that’s never charted— in 2019 that naturally sparked a lot of discussions. Below are Paste magazine’s top 10 picks. If you have strong feelings one way or another, please weigh in!
Spoon, as one of the most consistently great American rock bands of the 21st century—maybe even the best—has endless amounts of “fan favorites,” loads of which didn’t make the greatest hits record. Of the 10 songs we included on our list of favorites, only three made the cut for Everything Hits At Once, showing the depth of the perpetually cool Austin band’s back catalogue.
