Good Morning!
Today we’re listening to “Dsco” by Sweet Trip
It’s Friday, so we’re listening to something a little lighter.
Sweet Trip was a Bay-Area band that developed a huge cult following. They split up after releasing 4 studio albums and multiple EPs. Originally released in 2003, Velocity: Design: Comfort was reissued as a double LP in 2020.
More:
“Dsco” is a beautiful and breezy pop number that laces MBV’s wall of noise with sparkling Stereolab-esque synths, while Roby and Valerie’s voices drift and sigh in unison.

"Drum n' bliss" is such a great descriptor for the track! I had to look up the lyrics, though. Such a beautiful song. LOVE THE CHORUS!
Baby, run away, (run away) deeper to see
Baby, run away, to the sun, to the comfort
Adding this album to my "Work" playlist with some upbeat big band jazz, Nosaj Thing, and other "drum n' bliss" tunes.
Thanks for sharing this. Beautiful!
