Good morning!
Today we’re listening to “If It’s Here When We Get Back It’s Ours,” by Texas Is The Reason.
Texas Is the Reason burned bright, but burned fast, disbanding after 1 full album, an EP, and a few split 7" records with groups like label mates The Promise Ring and Samiam. There have been a few one-off shows and a small tour in the years since, but that’s it.
This is off their eponymous first EP. It comes at you like a typhoon, and the waves just keep coming. Every so often I dig this out, play it, then wonder why I don’t do so more often.
“The night of the final stop of the tour in Bielefeld, Germany, Daly and Arenas agreed before the show that if the show was "awesome", it would be their last. Arenas later related, "I walked on stage and we opened with 'Antique' and when Garrett started singing, there were eight hundred Germans singing along with us. I looked at Daly and knew that this was over."

This band was one of my faves — I haven't thought about them in years. That track "Back and to the Left" was on repeat for me during some formative years. Dang. Thanks for the reminder, Kevin.
