Love The Nerves! And, of course, the Blondie connection makes it even better. Did you know there was another Jack Lee song on Parallel Lines?-"Will Anything Happen"-Take a listen and it'll become obvious.
I can relate to the lyrics in 'One Way Ticket'. & the frustration. I don't know if it's still available or if anyone's interested, but Peter Case's little novella memoir is worth seeking out. I got my copy at one of his shows. What a great band.
So many new power pop/power pop-adjacent bands I interview name The Nerves as an influence. They weren’t around long and didn’t release a lot of music, but they continue to have an impact today. Amazing band.
Right? For not putting out as whole lot, they've sure had an outsized influence. Do you happen to have this 7"? It's a little before our time, but as I was writing this I started to wonder.
I don’t have the 7-inch. My vinyl collection is actually pretty modest because I only got back into it a couple years ago. But I do have the “One Way Ticket” comp on vinyl, which is fantastic.
You bet! I'm glad you liked it.

I didn't know that was penned by Lee. I'll give it another spin!
The Nerves! I am a Peter Case acolyte!
