Good Morning!
Today we’re listening to “Odeon” by Tomorrow’s Tigers
Happy Friday! It’s been a long week, so today we’re keeping it short & going with something lighter.
“Odeon” is a track by Tomorrow’s Tigers. The track got its start when songwriter Chris Punsalan was composing songs for “The Human Equivalent,” a sci-fi film he was making. He was joined by singer Autumn Proemm, who had previously been in The iOS and Wishboat together. Writing songs for a future world using vintage synths resulted in a retro-futuristic sound.
Or, as Glendon Waysey put it in last week’s discussion thread:
This is giving me Age of Consent from New Order vibes
Speaking with Proemm, she shared that “Odeon” is about a time when Punsalan worked at the now defunct Cineplex Odeon, and his boss would host after-hours parties in the theater, where everyone would cut loose.
Along those lines, the duo has also put together a fantastic video for the track.
I mean:
Whatever you get into this weekend, I hope you have half as much fun as these people did.

Technically, this is sci-fi adjacent. I approve heartily on those grounds.
Love this song, thanks Kevin!!
