Ah, yes, the grocery clerk life (I lasted two weeks).

I've always loved this song as well - it's like a great lost Replacements number. When I was in my corporate real estate days, I often had to head up to our Boston office. Most of our locations named their conference rooms after local neighborhoods, but not that one. Instead, they were all named after local bands, which included Dinosaur Jr., Buffalo Tom, and your guy, J. Geils (Band). I obviously appreciated this, except the boardroom was called 'Aerosmith.' Woof.

So cool about the Dinosaur Jr and Buffalo Tom conference rooms. Did they have ones for Pixies, Belly, Lemonheads, and Drop Nineteens? Where I am, they're named after the different mountains in our state, so not as fun 😊

Unless it's Mt. Hood. Then EVERY conference should be held there. :)

Also: Drop Nineteens! Yes!

Had to look up Mt. Hood, wow bonus points for being a volcano! In my state, they are all pretty much non-volcanic that I'm aware of. And triple gazillion bonus points for being the only other person alive (seemingly) who likes Drop Nineteens!! I even mentioned them in a Plethora of Pop piece I did. Mentioned Buffalo Tom in the same piece too :)

Mt. Hood is amazing. I miss it a LOT. Highly highly recommend a visit. As for Drop Nineteens, "Winona" makes a lot of appearances on my playlists.

Big Red Letter Day was my entry point, and is still my favorite Buffalo Tom album. Tree House and Dry Land are my faves to repeat, but Sodajerk is a close third.

This was quickly worn out on cassette in that weird in-between period where most of what I wanted to hear was out on CD, and I knew CDs sounded better, but the tapes were cheaper.

Thanks for featuring this.

I remember hearing this on the radio, but for whatever reason never bought the album back then. Didn't dig in until about 10 years ago. Anyway, great song, album, and band.
