I think I got the idea from a combination of writing about synesthesia (experiencing one sense though another sense) and listening to Dave Grohl's audiobook, where he talks about triggering specific memoires with music.
One notable thing for me: it's not about when the song was released as much as what I was doing when I fell in love with the song.
