Fountains of Wayne is amazeballs. I've listened to "Hey Julie" practically hundreds of times. Gonna check out "Denise" right away!

Used to have a client in Wayne, NJ a few years back. Passed the actual Fountains of Wayne many, many times. Always made me smile

I love this. It never occurred to me that there were actual fountains of Wayne. I know it should've, but...

And lest you think these are actual fountains, they are not. It's a store that sells fountains. And it became so infamous that it was even on an episode of the Sopranos. Alas, the demand for quality home fountains abated significantly in the late aughts and I believe the store is now closed: https://www.nj.com/news/2009/03/iconic_fountains_of_wayne_stor.html#:~:text=The%20store%2C%20located%20in%20Wayne,on%20HBO's%20%22The%20Sopranos.%22

I'll never forget when these guys played "Sink to the Bottom" and "Radiation Vibe" on the Jenny McCarthy show. I thought I loved Weezer until FOW blew them out of the water with their debut album! Utopia Highway is a classic record and I still listen to FOW all the time. RIP Adam Schlesinger, you power pop genius.

I adore this band so much, and had the pleasure of seeing them multiple times throughout my life. Chris lives in the area I was born and live in, so I used to run into him a lot pre-pandemic. It's so devastating what happened to Adam. They used to perform these sick rocking pop medleys that blew my mind! I've got a bunch of set lists I should organize from back in the day. Sweet memories, and thanks for the post! (Also, "Welcome Interstate Managers" is one of my favorite albums ever.)

They have a particular knack for hitting just the sweet spot with melodies. If you ever organize your set lists, I'd love to see them!

Hi Kevin! This is such a delayed response, but I did find three amazing setlists in my collection! One is handwritten, pretty spectacular stuff! Unfortunately, Substack won't let me add the pics I took of them to comments. I think I'll bring that up at the next Office Hours. And perhaps I will showcase them in a Morning After Thoughts edition soon. Happy weekend!
