The Pacific Age is where I came into OMD and I love it. The drums alone on it are fantastic. Great haul, with a little John Hiatt thrown in. I have a warped copy of Slow Turning that I still throw on from time to time (that I will hopefully replace).
"...would have been a field day for the right person..." he's talking about me, folks. I'm that person. I can take it or leave it when it comes to Nancy, but the instrumental cuts on that Cannonball LP are top notch. In particular, he really shines on I Can't Get Started. Happy weekend.
Oh, I should mention that I bought my first LP since the big sell off. A pristine first pressing of Guy Clark's Old No. 1 from 1975. Just couldn't leave it behind for the price. So here's my 22 LP collection in list form now, with a few hastily written notes for each. https://albumwhale.com/thejazztome/grogg-album-nucleus
Nice haul - Pacific Age is decent but no Junk Culture. That Aztec Jump is the bomb. $125 for a used copy of Life's Rich Pageant!? Ridiculous! Hard pass was the absolute right move.
I’m listening as I type this. Its awesome! Other than “Oblivious,” I don’t think I’ve heard this in years—and I’m not 100% sure I’ve ever listened to the entire record?
You beat me to it, Michele. I also like Stray (the one with "The Crying Scene" quite a bit, but they are very hit and miss for me. HLHR is an absolute must, though.
I am a big Aztec Camera fan. I have the 12" of "Jump" and it's outstanding,
Such an underrated band!

The Pacific Age was my on ramp too.
Always a good time for a little Hiatt!
P.S. It’s awesome to see you over here! 😀

Thanks for the link! I know you did a big purge, but I got a feeling crate digging with you would be a blast.
Likewise! Maybe I'll make it back to Madison someday.
“Postcard from Waterloo” is my favorite Verlaine solo recording. It has probably appeared on more of my mixes than any other song I can think of.
It’s a great track!

lol. It wasn’t exactly priced to move…
Back at you today!!!
I saw that! Great to see you back in my inbox. 😀
I have the Jump 45 and always felt it was precisely the amount of Aztec Camera I needed in my life!
May I recommend High Land Hard Rain? It's my all time favorite album. So good
