Thank you Kevin! I miss those early conversations about the music that keeps motivating us three plus decades later. Thank you for all of your support since the very beginning! I hope you and your readers enjoy the book. The pre-orders should be mailed out by late November. I’ll keep you posted!
Mucho gracias for pointing another book I need to read: Live from the Underground: A History of College Radio. Having depended on that community during my early music writing days in Boston, I'm thinking perhaps a nice extended one-year anniversary review may be due!
As someone who has fallen on their face attempting a headstand, I'm gonna check out that yoga book. Also the Slacker one seems cool too!
Some for Your Radar:
I've been getting bombarded with ads on IG from Disco Pogo, but I'm going to get their books on Aphex Twin and Daft Punk that are a collection of interviews and profiles written on them. Looks like a cool read.
I've also been meaning to start the latest Dilla bio that's been on my shelf for two years and I need to buy the "Birth of Cool" about Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Bill Evans.
Great recommendations! I loved seeing some familiar names on there doing some very cool stuff. Gonna check them all.
By the way, am I the only one here wondering whether you’ve actually cloned yourself?
Shifts? Arse o’clock in the morning. Publishing schedule? Several times a week. Comments, notes, posts? Responds, shares, restacks. Music? Let’s not even go there. Oh, and he reads?!! 😅😅 What the hell, man!
Lol. If you find one, let me know. I’ll pay you half plus finder’s fee. We can share him (this sounds so wrong 😅). Wait, what’s that? A Mariah/New Order mash-up? It wasn’t us, guys. It was the clone!
I love book recommendations! I have a growing stack of books written by fellow Substackers, which is exciting. Thanks for including my book-in-progress! Helps to keep me on track if my fans are growing impatient! 😂
Another parenting-related book about to come out from fellow Sbstacker Shelly Mazzanoble is “How to Dungeon Master Parenting.” I’m excited to read it because I grew up Baptist in the 80s when Christians thought D&D was satanic.
I really enjoyed the John Hiatt book. Working my way through Remember the Lightning Vol. 4 now, along with a thriller by Lee Goldberg called Ashes Never Lie.
You’re amazing and too kind and ROAD TRIP EAST immediately! I’ll even hold some foliage for you. Yes-I have that power! Seriously…you are welcome anytime! 💕
I will not add more books to the stack…I will not add more books to the stack…I will not add more books to the stack…darn you, Kevin!
Sorry man! 😂
On the plus side, these are all awesome.
That Slacker book is going on my 'to-read' list.
Same!
Thank you Jeff!! ✊
Right on! I wasn’t just being nice when I said I can’t wait.

Please do! I’m looking forward to it.
Thanks for the shout out, Kevin!
Of course! I’m slowly working my way toward “Corporate Rock Sucks,” and am excited to dig into that one as well.

No problema! Might be time indeed!

Sweet! Thanks for the recs! That Birth of Cool record sounds like something to get on my Christmas list…

I should be so lucky! Mostly, I’d just use it to finally get some sleep. 😂

Lol. That might actually be pretty good!
We’ll make it happen someday!

Oh, that looks like something right up my alley!
Some great recs here, thanks Kevin!
Of course! Maybe something to read on breaks from the trail.
I really enjoyed the John Hiatt book. Working my way through Remember the Lightning Vol. 4 now, along with a thriller by Lee Goldberg called Ashes Never Lie.
The Hiatt book is so good. Not exaggerating when I say I'm finding out something new on almost every page.
Thanks for the shout! ⚡️💥📚
You bet!
