Lord of the Flies lol. Nada Surf really takes me back Kevin — love it!

Right on! I'm glad you liked it. My HS was built to be riot proof, so besides all the usual nonsense we all went through, it was overheated, overcrowded, and dark.

Well, wasn't that interesting?! Color me intrigued! Certainly can't argue with their message, and I enjoyed the song, even when the jarring guitars came in! Nice to hear a turn-of-the-century band having such a positive, non-cynical message. Enjoyed the production, and the inclusion of the interview! I'll check out the album, and see how consistent they turn out to be! Thanks, Kevin!

I don't think I have, but it's possible. This track and Band of Horses' "Crutch" from Wednesday can sound similar at first blush.

Great choice with Nada Surf. The Weight Is a Gift and its predecessor Let Go are the true gems of their catalog. Let Go came out the tail end of my senior year of high school and was a huge hit with my friends. I've always held them in high regard as I remember my buddy and his girlfriend showed up to their show early and the band took them to dinner. Too cool and something they totally didn't need to do!

That's awesome! I love these kinds of stories. And really, while the band might not've thought too much about it, I'll bet it had a huge impact on your friends.
