I love that Swervedriver record. They have new music out, and they’re touring again! 🙌🏼

This should be a fun series!

We're looking forward to it as well. The Top 100 Albums run was too fun to not keep the magic going into 2025!

Thank you! We think it'll be a blast.

Cool idea, gents…and I vaguely remember most of these albums. One suggestion would be to put the release year next to the title of each album to give context.

I'm here for The New Pornographers. While I think their fans are forever, I still think they fly under the radar and deserve a lot more listens.

100%

I've never quite understood why they weren't "bigger."

I like the idea behind this series Kevin! Unfortunately, I don't know any of these albums.

That's why you gotta check 'em out ;)

That's where we come in! :)

This should be a lot of fun! Most of these artists or albums were new to me outside of the Celeste album which I love. I look forward to digging into these over the next week.

Thanks Mark! Let us know if you find a new favorite (or two).

This is such a great idea. Looking forward to following this series!

I am not familiar with any of these recordd, but I really enjoyed reading the write-ups. Also — I completely agree that going to shows alone is great (sometimes even better/easier than going with someone else 🤣).

Right? It took me far too long to come around to the idea. Now I love it.

I guess there’s also a cultural element. I can see how and why for Americans it can feel weird at first. You guys are a lot more sociable than we are. London is such an anonymous city that you can be dining in a romantic restaurant by yourself, or watching the match alone in a pub full of crowds, and no one will bat an eyelid.

I started going to shows alone after Covid. At first, I was self-conscious about it, but now it's so enjoyable. Most of my friends aren't as into music as I am, so I just feel liberated to go see whoever I want to see without restraint from other people not being into the bands I like. I make a night out of it and check out a nearby restaurant before the show.

That’s really cool. I got used to going to concerts by myself as a teenager because my friends weren’t that interested in blues and jazz as I was (still am). They’re getting round to it now, but I still much prefer going by myself 🤣🤣

Another newbie to all of these albums. This is a great idea for a series and will definitely fill the hole left by the conclusion of the Top 100 Albums. Can’t wait to see what else comes up.

Thank you, Lou! I think we've got some great things coming down the pike.

All their records are very consistent. Perfect fall/spring music.

I absolutely agree Swervedriver is criminally underrated. I saw them perform “Raise” full album live at the Casbah years back for my birthday evening and they completely melted faces. I found out about them by discovering a cassette tape of Raise at a friend’s house. The friend had no idea where it came from either. Still listen to it all these years later( although the cassette is long gone!)
