The weight of expectations can be tough. Between his time in Drive-By Truckers (and everything after), the recent documentary “Running With Our Eyes Closed,” and an on-point Twitter game, Jason Isbell has become the go-to pick for legions of cargo shorts wearing 35-55-year-old dudes1.
But Isbell is a hell of a songwriter and makes light work of it, filling his records with stories about people who drink tall boys for an audience that drinks radlers.
