Kevin Thanks for the great ideas! I’m a little confused. You talk about local shopping and not buying “from some faceless corporation”. Then include links to Amazon!
They are the last company on earth (which they will be soon enough) that I personally will buy from.
Fair point! I’m not a fan either, and tried to include other links where I could. Also happy to help people find other avenues. The reality is a LOT of people still have Prime accounts. I’m mindful of the dissonance, but wanted to shine a light on the people in this community doing great work.
I get it. Do check out Big Stir Records (love the nod to Big Star) it does have some great power pop bands offerings and the Remember The Lightning journals that SW Lauden has for sale.
I just looked back and noticed SW Lauren’s really great “Remember The Lightning” journals are on your list. I sent a message to SW when I first joined Substack. I told him I wanted his book but refused to buy from Amazon. His reply “Give me about a week”. He was able to get his books on the Big Stir Records website. The site has other cool stuff too. SW ended up sending me a free copy from his office in California but I did buy one other “Lightning” journal from Big Stir, you all should too!
Thanks so much for the Phonophore love, my man. This is a great gift guide. I wish I had the cash to spring for all of this stuff for the culture nerds on my holiday list.
Thanks for the shout, Kevin! Honored to be in such stellar company!
Of course! Excited to grab my own copy of the book.
appreciate the shout-out and well curated, my friend! hope your shopping is aces this year
I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve got for us this time around! 😀
Thanks for including Radio Free ABQ and Pike 27, Kevin! I'm happy to be with such great company. Looking forward to checking everyone out.
Both records are fantastic, Dave!

Thanks for grabbing a copy! Vol 3 is my favorite (biased opinion lol), but the whole series is awesome.
