I loved Blind Man’s Zoo so much! I brushed off all the stuff you mention here back then - maybe it will sound too preachy now? LOL

Blind Man’s Zoo for the win! The whole album was so unique and reflective of 1989-91 pop culture (exploring women’s priorities that weren’t sexually or romantically motivated in a subtle musical delivery). It may not have seen commercial success after grunge hit in ‘91 and pop started leaning into more masculine “alt rock” stylings.

See, I would have figured Michael Penn would be right up your alley. I had a copy of March on cassette back then, so it would definitely get my vote. My favorite album of his is 1997's Resigned.
