I shared Mantronix with you via Twitter, but a completely different song that is in quite heavy rotation in my world, although mostly not by my choice, is the song Stefania by Kalush Orchestra. This Ukranian band were the winners of the Eurovision song contest held recently. Last Friday, on our kids' school (they still have a few weeks to go) a Talent Show was held. One of my son's friend performed a song with her brother. This song. Their mother is from Ukraine, and the family houses several refugees. One of them, a 16 year old girl, came to play the guitar while the kids were performing. So, I do not really like the song, but it has a story to it at the moment, that makes it one more of us should listen to: https://songwhip.com/kalush/stefaniakalushorchestra

That's a great story! The song's kinda catchy too. Do you read Midweek Crisis? Stygi recently put together a playlist of Ukrainian artists/music. It's awesome:

Lately, it's been listening to my fellow Canadian Glenn Gould play Bach's "Goldberg Variations" at both the beginning and the end of his career, thanks to a CD compilation. A nice antidote to the BS and opportunism I find everyone on the Internet and media these days.

I'm with you; I've found myself running faster & faster away from those sort of transactional relationships.

Nice! I see that the Eaux Claires festival he started is supposed to return this year, but don't know if it actually will. I'd love to go if it does.

This has an easy groove to it, that I dig. The horns are nice too.

Rick Rubin recently interviewed all 4 members for his podcast. I hadn't had the band on my radar for awhile, but the series put them back on it. I haven't heard the new one yet, but people seem to really be liking it!
